Philadelphia City Council Honors Bianca Ryan
Bianca was an invited guest of honor at the Philadelphia City Council meeting today, Thursday February 1st. 2007. The reason Council requested Bianca’s presence was to present her with a resolution in her name for accomplishments that go above and beyond the expectations of a person of her age. After a long list of the young star’s accomplishments were read by several of the council members, council woman Joan Krajewski presented the Resolution. Bianca was asked to say a few words; she gave thanks to God "who is first in my life, for this amazing journey I'm on" and then thanked the members of council. She said that the show of love and support from the people here and all around the world have truly encouraged her to be the best person she can be, on and off stage. Bianca then surprised council by walking in front of the podium, picking up a wireless microphone from another table and performing "I Am Changing" from the Broadway musical, and now the major motion picture "Dream Girls". This is also the song she performed on the finale of "America's Got Talent". The entire council chamber showed their gratitude with two standing ovations.
After the event Bianca spoke with a fan of hers and told her that one of her wishes is to encourage "kids of all ages to dare to dream, dream big, really big, because your dreams can come true. I mean it was about 6 months ago I was singing in my basement with a hairbrush for a microphone dreaming of having my own TV show and being a professional singer, now I have a recording contract and I'm touring and singing all around the world".
